Italian Cantucci biscuits

Cantucci are typical Italian almond cookies (biscuits) made dry and hard by double baking. In the old times, bread double-baked was very useful for long storage, especially during travel or wars. The origin of the almond biscuits is placed in the city of Prato, in Tuscany. Italian cantucci make a great complement to coffee.
